In the following interview, Clarios provides some detail on its work with WGBI as well as its internal efforts to foster diversity and inclusion to build a best-in-class workforce and support the future of energy storage.
Q: Why has Clarios chosen to support WGBI, and the broader goal of industry-wide workforce diversity?

Q: Are there things Clarios does independently to support internal diversity and inclusion at your organization?
A: Clarios recently demonstrated a commitment to empower women in the battery industry through initiatives for Women’s History Month. The Clarios Women’s Forum in Mexico focuses on growth and mentorship for our female leaders. Clarios has programs to attract, develop, and empower individuals to ensure we have a wide range of experiences, capabilities, and viewpoints. By valuing each individual, we broaden our perspective and encourage innovation.
For the second year in a row, Clarios has been named one of the world’s most ethical companies by Ethisphere. We encourage all stakeholders to freely contribute ideas. Q: The battery industry is going through a period of innovation and change right now. What trends excite your organization, and what are the kinds of skills that that will be needed in the industry of the future?
A: Clarios is invested in improving our world environment. Our technologies are sustainable, reliable, and safe. We ensure that up to 99% of the materials in our batteries are recovered, recycled, and reused. The company pioneered a closed-loop system which makes our batteries among the most recycled products in the world.
Another initiative intended to improve the environment through reduction of pollutants and less reliance on fossil fuels is supporting the electrification of vehicles through a portfolio of advanced low-voltage batteries. Clarios is constantly researching and developing improvements in technology to create efficient and sustainable energy storage solutions.
